and illustrations for books, reports and other things is very hard to find.
You could try drawing diagrams yourself, but sometimes that is just not
helpful, so I try to find something in the realm of good people providing
pictures for a very low cost. Or, sometimes, these people provide it for
free, which I love. I use these sites. Amazingly great. |

Libraries with Digital
Collections:
Library of Congress--a huge resourse of old
pictures, more than 70 collections are digitized, as of now.
New York Public Library-- 2 collections of images are digitized.
African Americans in the 19th century, and Images of Cities and important
people.

stock photographs for commercial and personal use.

farm pictures
FreeStockPhotos.com--a
lot of government photography, its free for commercial and personal use,
but you have to credit the site somewhere on there.
DHD Photo Gallery--a gallery of a
whole lot of photos, provided for personal and commercial use.
